Principal

DeMarcos D. Holland is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and has been a professional educator for nearly seventeen years. Holland began his professional career in Carrollton City Schools at Carrollton Jr. High School as a teacher and coach from 2001- 2005. During which time he also served as a medical logistics specialist in the United States Army Reserves. In 2006, Holland was promoted to assistant principal in Carroll County School System and later named the principal of Villa Rica Middle School in 2008.

As principal, Holland strategically implemented school-wide initiatives that enhanced school culture and improved learning outcomes for all students. Holland received commendations from the district and state for his leadership and was recruited by Fulton County School System (FCS) in 2010. Holland served as a middle and high school principal with Fulton County Schools from 2009-2015.  During his tenure with FCS Holland was commended for launching several innovative charter school initiatives which included establishing a model alternative suspension program, launching a personalized learning framework through partnering with Teach-to-One, and collaborating with Junior Achievement of Georgia to develop and implement a high school magnet business concept. In 2015, Holland joined Atlanta Public Schools, and was later named Principal of New Manchester High School, Douglas County School System in 2016.

Holland earned degrees from the University of West Georgia (B.S., secondary social science; M.Ed., secondary education) and Jacksonville State University (Ed.S, educational leadership). He is currently pursuing his doctoral degree at Liberty University.  Mr. Holland and his wife, Rei, have three children, Taiyo (9), Blossom (12), and Rain (13) and currently reside in Villa Rica, Georgia.
