I have had the pleasure of teaching literature and language arts to students since 1998.  I started my career with DeKalb County Schools and came to Douglas County Schools in 2006.

I am the mother of a daughter, Kailan, who is a college graduate and a son, Derrick, who is in middle school.  During my personal time, I like to go to the movies, visit museums, spend the day riding roller coasters and getting wet at amusement parks, travel, exercise, and spend time with family and friends.  I always like to share the following Chinese proverb:

"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day.  Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."
