Immediately after earning his B.A. from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, Mr. Green attended the University of Georgia where he was awarded his M.Ed.  In December of 2001, he graduated from Georgia State University with an Ed.S.  Mr. Green's graduate studies included French and foreign language education.  His Ed.S. project analyzed the effect of early start middle school foreign language study on high school language learners. 


Mr. Green has taught languages for twenty-four years.  He has been a teacher of French in Douglas County for twenty-one years.  He currently serves as World Language Department Chair.  In the past, Mr. Green has also taught English to speakers of other languages in Georgia and in China.    


Mr. John Green, teacher of French at New Manchester High School, grew up in Douglas County and is a product of the Douglas County School System.  Mr. Green (a.k.a. M. LeVert) has studied in France (1989, 2002, 2005, 2007), Quebec (2003, 2012), and Senegal (2014).  He enjoys travelling in francophone North Africa and the Caribbean and studying world cultures. Most recently, Mr. Green vacationed in Louisiana and spent time in Cajun country and New Orleans.  He studied the French influence on that part of the American South.  He dreams of returning one day to China and studying the Chinese language.
